Cooking With Stewart Peterson

First off, apologies for lack of blog updating.  It has been a busy time and I actually have lots to blog about so holla.

In case it has been difficult to determine or you are just very incompetent hah, I enjoy food...a lot.  Recently we moved into a new house (blog post coming...) and I have some new roommates. Mr. Stewart Peterson is one of them and for the past month I have heard the mentions of a turkey steak creation that he enjoyed.  I was very intrigued, especially because this was coming from a Brigham City native and someone who grew up only a minute away from the famous Maddox Ranch House.  To my luck, last night I was able to witness this creation first hand and even get a few taste tests.

The cook himself, Stewart Peterson
You might ask, what does this unnamed and mysterious creation by Stewart Peterson contain...

It's simple:
  • One frozen Maddox turkey stake.  (available at Northern Utah grocery stores)
  • One egg, preferably fresh
  • A handful of cheddar jack shredded cheese
Here are two videos with Chef Stew explaining how this Northern Utah Peterson Classic goes down:

I was very impressed with Chef Stew's creation, and my mouth was definitely salivating as he prepared the meal.  It was a struggle to do this interview because I was gettin da munchies.

The decadent turkey steak stew creation.
Taste test!!!!!!

...and it gets two fingers up!!
I know many of my critics have criticized me for my lack of healthy eating.  I am working on it and this meal definitely doesn't fall under the healthiest of snacks, but it was enjoyable and should be consumed sparingly to avoid obesity.

Expect more posts about Chef Stew in the future...haha.

Some Thanks Are In Order - Part 2

Like I said in my previous post, these past few days have been crazy.  I spent most of the first part of the weekend helping people without cars run errands, moving, and I also had some other errands of my own I needed to run.  Abruptly on Thursday some plans were messed up so I didn't even have a place to put my stuff while I wait to move into my new crib.  Jennika was also leaving for a weeks so I wanted to spend some time with her before she left.  On top of all of this, I come home Friday night to find a note to see that all my roommates had moved all of their stuff out of the apartment and that they had no intentions of returning to help clean up for the clean checks that we had planned on doing Saturday.  I must credit them for a job well done cleaning the fridge out and throwing away most of my food in it.  Tiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!!

So here are my shoutouts to the great and amazing friends that are there for me when I need em, despite how random or unpleasant the task at hand might be!!!!!!!!

Thank you Emily for saving me and letting me put my stuff in your house while I roam the streets of Utah homeless!

Thank you Gwen for getting on your hands and knees and scrubbing our floor for three hours!  haha sorry about whatever was in the sink that made you and Jennika scream.

Thank you Madi for starting up my birthday celebration with your visit and being the majority vote on going to see Babies hahaha.

Shout out to Jennika for helping me with eeeeeeeeverything, packing, cleaning everything gross in our apartment for hours, and for my favorite present of my birthday this year, a panini maker!!!!

Shout out to Kevin for also bringing in my birthday with a bang, appreciating Man v. Food as much as I do, and for all the moral support as we watched the worst parts of child birth hahahaha.  We will miss you while you are being studied...let's hope the people doing the study are not the visitors from V.

Twists n shouts for Stew for being Stew and bringing comedy and knowledge into my life.  I mean really, who would want to see the movie Babies when you can just go down the street to your cousins'.  This dude knows how to clean and also helped us for hours as we cleaned our apartment.  Hahaha we got a sick lunch bunch goin down so be g-lous.

Shouts to Court for the great birthday, the mad cooking skills you displayed, the shake weight hahah, for letting all the guys be guys, and giving me a new nickname because of my headphones - hamburger patties.

These peeeeeeeeeps are da bomb and I really appreciate all yall did to help me out this weekend when I needed your help. Yall taught me a lesson and more about what true friends are and I am super thankful.  GRACIAS!!

Some Thanks Are In Order - Part 1

The last week or so has been pretty hectic with finishing finals, packing and moving, my birthday, and my long list of to-do's that I have had and am still finishing.  I was planning on posting something on Mother's Day but since I am homeless until Friday, it was very difficult to get an internet connection.  I really have some special thanks in order though and the first one is for mi madre!!!

Tim Tam Slam

Last night I was introduced to the "Tim Tam Slam" by my buddy Kevin.

You probably question and wonder, what is this "Tim Tam Slam" movement.

Here is the process:
"Opposite corners of the Tim Tam (chocolate biscuit composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit) )  are bitten off, one end is submerged in the drink, and the drink sucked through the biscuit. The crisp inside biscuit is softened and the outer chocolate coating begins to melt.
Ideally, the inside of the biscuit should collapse but the outside should remain intact long enough for the liquid to reach the mouth. Refrigerating them helps to preserve the outside coating while allowing the inside of the biscuit to melt. The thicker chocolate coating on the Double Coat Tim Tam offers a more stable structure to prevent a premature collapse. The caramel centre of the Chewy Caramelvariety helps to hold the biscuit together for a slightly longer time."

Lemme just say, I wish I had been Tim Tam Slammin for years because this lil treat was pretty bomb and deeeelish.  Although it was May 6th, it was snowing outside, so heating up some mint hot chocolate seemed pretty normal.  We then bit our Tim Tam's and sucked up the hot chocolate and after that, all that was left was pure enjoyment.  For those of you who have not Tim Tam Slammed, I highly recommend it!

Here's a video of us doing it:

Let Us Play With Your Look

A while back in early March, the fam took a trip out to New York Citayyyyyy to celebrate Darby's baptism and to just have a good ole time.  Kage had gone to the Jimmy Fallon Show the day before and told us about of the skits they did on it and we could not stop singing it or laughing about it all week long while we were there hahaha...this is it:

hahahaha I still laugh about this and we seriously enjoyed this probably wayyyyy too much. But anyways, I saw a pink wig that reminded me of the skit and put it on yesterday and attempted my own two second version of "Let Us Play With Your Look".

Enjoy...its quick and quirky...

PS.  Sorry fam for putting that song back in your head...haha ;)

Happy Sushi!! Hi!

I have been craving sushi for a good month and a half.  Ever since I went on my man date with the APX big boss, I have been craving for more.  So to celebrate the end of finals for some, we hit up Happy Sushi, a nice little sushi joint right next to Club New York haha.

Dog Honking Horn

Tuesday when we were walking back to get Kev's car, a large black truck started honking at us and it had a very loud horn.  We then turned around and I thought it would be someone we knew, but instead it was a dog just having a good time hahaha.

I'll be staying in Logan this summer so even though school just got out, I won't be leavin for home. There are a few things from this semester that might be missed:

Flamin' Hot!

Flamin' Hot Cheetos...one of the greatest innovations of our time.
I was doing a little research today and found out that Flamin' Hot Cheetos are sooooo good, that in a few schools they are banned because kids were addicted to them.  I on the other hand am not addicted, but definitely obsessed.
