Dominican Republic!!

I should really get better about posting in my blog, that is if anyone actually reads this. I am going to try and post in it every day until July 18th, the day I leave on my mission.

I got my call almost two weeks ago to serve in the Domnican Republic Santiago mission. I've slowly started to float down from cloud nine, but I am still incredibly excited and pumped to go. I have heard only good things about the mission and the fact that the girl who won apprentice this week decided to go work there for Trump just adds to my enthusiasm. ;)

I could go into deep detail and post tropical pictures of the DR, but I'm kind of lazy at the moment and I don't want to make you all jealous. Just google dat ish..

I have met some great people here at school though that are from the Dominican Republic, and on my first encounter I could of sworn they were not speaking spanish. It seemed like some sort of Donkey Kongish growl mixed with a pinch of curry and Indian spice. I do now know that they speak spanish incredibly fast and it has a heavy accent. I think I will be able to catch on though, I mean cmon, I was able to catch onto the lame Utah slang.

Anyways, my strategy for converting thousands is to just tell everyone I'm friends with Sammy Sosa and that we often chilled together when he was in Chicago. That will open the door up for me to speak the truth and share the gospel.

I will post more about the DR as my time to leave comes closer. I'm gonna have one serious farmer's tan when I get back.

<24 Hours

I am expecting my mission call to arrive tomorrow afternoon, something I've been waiting to come for over 18 years. With less then 24 hours until it comes, that's all I can really think about. Most people aspire to go somewhere crazy, I could really care less. Either way I'll be serving the Lord and spreading the truth and thats what it's all about.

Happy Birthday Lil' Sis!!

We have had our good times and our bad times. Who could forget when you ferociously tackled me as I sat innocently in the computer chair that late summer night, or the time you threw a plethra of strong objects at me. Lucky for you, you display a scar of honor on your forehead from the time I stabbed you with a sharp ruler as we reinacted Nephites and Lamanites. Putting most of that to the past, [haha I did have a great way of taunting you], you rock!! I'd like to think you and I are the smartest of the family, we just tend to procrastinate and lack that extra effort, and that's what makes us human. ;) Dad would say otherwise. Remember the time he blatantly said I was the dumbest in the family and Lindsay was the smartest? Hahaha, we all get a knee slappa outta that one.

Your funny, loud enough to give Mrs. Welter, from down the street a migraine, taller then most of the guys at your school, able to take on mom and dad alone while all us old kids are out of state playing, and thats why I love you! Can't wait to see ya in a month and a halfish! Have a great day! I'll be dancing like Dmitry all day in your honor. hahah :)

Cali Trip

I am back from California. It was a great trip, loved my time with Kage, O, and D, and I also had a great time with a few friends from school.

I didn't have a camera so I have barely any pictures from it but here are a few Kage took in our day at Disneyland. There are a few more pictures of me with my friends and I'll try and get a hold of them.

Nieces

I've always been surrounded by women. I'm used to it.

I love the visits from my nieces. I loved seeing them over Christmas, and it was an honor to be part of Vi's blessing.

This past summer, two weeks before leaving for school, I had the opportunity to babysit Lil D and O while Kage was off doing that Hollywood thanggg. The first thoughts going through my head when Kage called me up were, "Oh gosh, this should be exciting...I don't babysit, and now I'm going to be a Manny?". Needless to say, it was a great experience. Not only did I learn how to be a dad/mom, I also learned that I am definitely going to wait a few years to have kids when I get married a few hundred years from now. Hah, no it was really fun and definitely taught me a lot of life lessons in that week we were crammed up in the appartment in Queens. The hottest meal of the week was hot dogs (somtimes substituted with string cheese) with peanut butter spread on them and strawberries. I let the kids eat what they wanted to eat, within limits of course. Lil D was a big help when I was there, besides for her little acrobatic tirade in the bathroom which ended up pulling down a towel rack. Woops, I didn't know I needed to moderate potty time. She's a great big sister though. I felt like I did pretty good, nobody cried except when da Big J came home for some reason. I think we watched the Scoopy Doo Movie three times, Ninja Turtles, and around 37 episodes of the Suite life of Zach and Cody.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!

Yes... That is a diaper on my head. I am that fun.

Forgot to wear my lilac polo for this photoshoot.

Anyways, I love my nieces. They are practically like little sisters to me. Like I said a post below, I am going to be able to see two of them this weekend and I am thrilled about that. While at school, it is always refreshing to get emails and blog entries filled with their vibrant smiles. It really brightens my day. What a better place in the world, then to spend a day with your nieces at Disneyland. It should be fun!!

5:40 am, D comes downstairs and says, "Uncle SAM?!! What are you thinking?!" We hung out that whole morning, then I went to bed for a little bit.

California Here I Come!!

Friday, after hopefully killing my psychology test, I will heading off to California for spring break! I am very excited and it should be a lot of fun. I will be able to meet up with Kage, Lil' D, and O. We are going to go to Disneyland together and I can not wait to spend that time with them. It will be nice to also get away from the snowy mountains and valley of Logan. I will be there till thee 18th and I am really looking forward to this break. It is nice to get away and just reset the clock of being in school. I will keep everyone updated on my journeys in Cali.

Goodbye Logan, for a little bit.

Here are some pictures of Logan for your pleasure.. ha
